Gender Neutral Pricing: How To Choose Your Services

Salon services have often defined pricing by who is receiving the service, one price for a women's haircut, another price for a men's haircut. I don't know when this started or why it's been done this way for so long. I'm happy to see that most salons are now using gender neutral pricing and wanted to provide some guidance for how Hairhaus pricing is determined.
Haircuts: There is a huge range of lengths and styles worn by all people. I've separated my haircut services into three categories and priced them according to time and predicted frequency.
Long haircuts are for all lengths that end below the shoulders. This service requires more time for detangling and blow-out styling and generally long haired clients get by on between one and three haircuts per year.
Medium length haircuts are for all lengths that are longer than a pixie or a style traditionally referred to as a 'men's haircut' but reach no longer than shoulder length. This length requires a little less time to detangle and style and this is reflected in a slightly lower price.
Short haircuts are generally tapered to the hairline at the nape of the neck -as in a pixie or 'men's haircut', and sometimes require clipper work. This length is priced significantly lower -not because they don't require as much time and skill but because they require more frequent maintenance. Short haired clients come in as frequently as every 3-5 weeks.
When scheduling a haircut service please choose the length of haircut you would like to leave with.
Color (all-over, single process): Choose this service if you would like to change your hair color from the natural color (including for gray coverage) to another solid color. You may also choose this service if your hair has been previously colored and you would like to change to a darker color. Please note: single process color cannot lighten previously colored hair. If you have previously colored hair and would like to change to a lighter shade you will need to schedule a corrective color service. All color prices are for all people.
Color Correction: Corrective color is a lengthy, multi-step service customized to the client for those who have any of the following: previously colored hair which they would like to change to a lighter color, hair which has been previously lightened (to shades of blonde, especially when bleach was used) which they would like to color to match their natural root or darken significantly, multiple colors due to: previous services, experimental color, color mistakes, etc. If you're uncertain whether you are in need of a color correction feel free to contact me prior to scheduling. Color correction pricing is for all people. Color correction is a complicated process which may require multiple services and is charged by the hour.
Highlights: I offer four different highlight services. All highlight services are for both full-length and root retouches as the process is detailed and time consuming in either case. All services may utilize either woven or balayage highlights depending on the desired result.
Mini-Highlight: Choose this service to add a few highlights around the face.
Partial-Highlight: Highlights are placed in the top section of the hair only: around the face, in the crown, on the sides.
Full-Highlight: Highlights are placed throughout the hair giving the "full blonde" look.
Ombre: A full highlight which concentrates the lightest shades at the ends of the hair and fades into the natural or base color.
Please reach out with any questions if you are still confused as to which service(s) you require.
